Lately, I’ve been purchasing fabric on Etsy since I’ve been having to find very specific colors or patterns. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at what I’ve been finding! So, I thought I’d share some tips and tricks on how I’ve been deciding where to order from.
1. Take advantage of those search terms! Play around with the keywords to find what you’re looking for. Describe the color or the actual fabric you’re searching for and play around with it all to get as many ideas as you can.
2. Check the pricing, and include the shipping. The saving grace of Etsy is it allows you to find the pricing that would best suit your project’s budget! The 6 yards of fabric and shipping charges cost me $30 for my husband’s vest I plan on making him. I can’t beat that!
3. Pay attention to where the item is being shipped from! It can affect the cost, but it’s more to know the time frame for how long your order may take.
4. Look at the store’s ratings! As much as I hate to say it as an Etsy seller, people do pay attention to the ratings. If the store has low ratings and a lot of complaints, you may want to avoid it.
